World of Warcraft Fan Makes WoW-Style Map of Oregon

Now approaching its 17th anniversary, World of Warcraft continues to entertain and inspire legions of fans. The MMORPG has many instantly identifiable characteristics, with one of the most prominent being the game's maps. One WoW player has taken the map's motifs and is applying it to a place a little more reachable than Azeroth, Outland, or Draenor -- the northwestern state of Oregon. To get more news aboutBuy WoW WLK Gold, you can visit lootwowgold official website.

Activision Blizzard's immensely popular PC title originally launched in 2004, and has retained a sizable player base ever since. Despite the ongoing situation, the developer has managed to soldier on with new incoming content. Blizzard recently announced a few of World of Warcraft's races will be getting new character creation options, along with several new cosmetics.
Posted onto the World of Warcraft Reddit page, user ConservationofWumbo shows off their rendition of what the state of Oregon would look like on a WoW-style map. The creator appears to have gotten all of the in-game details accurately, right down to the torn and crumpled parchment edges. The map does an excellent job of emulating WoW's earth-tone color scheme, with the more open farmland regions to the east colored a yellow-orange, with Oregon's heavily wooded coast shown in a suitable green. Several of Oregon's major landmarks and cities are labeled as well, with places like Medford, Crater Lake, Mount Hood, and Portland all labeled with appropriate icons.

The World of Warcraft-style map has garnered plenty of praise online, with the unique map amassing roughly 3,600 upvotes at the time of wriitng. Dozens of fans have lauded the artwork, with many Oregonians giving it their seal of approval. While the map is surely impressive, this actually isn't the first time ConservationofWumbo has made headlines for creating a WoW-style map of a state. A few weeks ago, the same artist posted a World of Warcraft-style map of Washington state. The map has many of the same game-accurate features as its Oregon counterpart, showcasing various roads, mountain ranges, and points-of-interest.

Whether it be pandemic-related free time or otherwise, gamers seem to be working on recreating different states from around the U.S. through the lens of different titles this year. There isn't any doubt that the pair of WoW-inspired maps are impressive, but one group of gamesr have taken that idea and turned it on its head. Rather than add a video game to a state, one group is adding a state to a video game. A group of dedicated Minecraft players are aiming to build a full-scale 1:1 recreation of the state of New Jersey.

While the current state of World of Warcraft can vary depending on who is asked, at least pretty much any fan can appreciate the creativity behind game-inspired state maps, which hopefully will continue being released. Fans of the IP who've grown tired of WoW will be pleased to know two Warcraft mobile games are in development, although details about either title remain scarce.
